Altinkum Property Turkey. Property in Altinkum

The splendid three-beach resort of Altinkum is located on Turkey's Aegean coast. The word Altinkum itself actually means 'Golden Sands' and it isn't a coincidence, as the beaches are beautiful. It is a very popular destination with both British and Turkish tourists regularly visiting the area. In the past fifteen years, Turks from the larger cities have been purchasing apartments and houses in the area to use as summer homes, and Altinkum property is now becoming popular with foreigners. The resort is serviced by Bodrum Airport, which is approximately a one hour journey by coach transfer, and about fifty miles North West from Altinkum. Turkish Airlines fly from London Heathrow, Royal Dutch KLM fly out of Manchester and British Airways fly from Glasgow International.   Izmir airport is also easily accessible from Gatwick or Stanstead, from which driving time to Altinkum is approximately 90 minutes.

The city of Altinkum, situated within the district of Didim is a friendly and relaxed location. The bars and restaurants hum with activity but without the bustle and raucous nature of many other tourist destinations. Local transport is frequent and reliable, running in the form of local 'Dolmus' buses which run approximately every 20 minutes with pick up points close to all developments, and taxi services. The new Didim marina area is currently being developed around the harbour which is likely to push property prices in the area up as it nears completion. Regular water sports activities such as water skiing and diving; alongside fishing trips are arranged around the harbour/marina part of the town.
