Antalya - Antalya Property Turkey

The bustling town of Antalya is located on Turkey's southern coast, surrounded by the Taurus mountain range and overlooking the warm waters of the Mediterranean. It is a popular tourist destination in the summer, and Antalya property is highly sought after by foreign investors. One of the reasons for this is its great accessibility, the local Antalya International Airport is only eight miles (thirteen kilometres) away from the town centre and a good range of airlines serves the Antalya area.

The province of Antalya includes some of the most popular resorts in Turkey including the magnificent ancient city of Side, the Riviera type beaches and numerous golf courses of Belek, and the historic sites and beautiful golden beaches of Alanya.

Kaleici, the historical centre of city is increasingly modern, with luxury apartments and boutiques, alongside six major shopping centres, bars, restaurants and other local modern facilities. Transportation is plentiful, with taxis, trams, buses and minibuses all operating throughout the city. The lively humming harbour and marina area, set within the commercial port of Antalya, reveals the presence of economic growth in the region. However the city retains its classical heritage and was recently presented with the Golden Apple, an important tourism honour.

In summer, Antalya is busy and warm, the population of the area triples, as the beaches fill with tourists from all over the world, but particularly British and German visitors, who swell the numbers, as the temperature itself soars to around 29 degrees Celsius (84 degrees Fahrenheit). In winter it is cool and quieter, but the climate remains pleasant throughout the entire year, never dipping below 12 degrees Celsius (53 degrees Fahrenheit). The city has its own promenade and a pebble beach, although the other main beach area is 12 kms away to the East, but is well worth the journey.

Alongside the stunning beaches, the historical assets of the location are highly prized and are very popular with tourists. Inside the town itself is the Antalya Archaeological Museum, a great place to spend a day exploring Antalya�s past, with exhibits dating back to prehistoric time. The Museum is laid out chronologically and is open from eight thirty in the morning, until seven thirty at night. West of Antalya is the Olympos National Park, with its amazing Chimaera, a place where natural gas escaping from the ground burns and flames shoot from the rocks. In the city itself, Hadrian�s Gate, the tribute to the Emperor Hadrian and is a marvel of Roman engineering. Fifty kms away from the city is Aspendos, a Greco-Roman city within Antalya Province, with its beautifully preserved Greek theatre, which seats seven thousand people.

Golf lovers are not going to be disappointed by the quality and variety of golf resorts and golf courses available in the Antalya region, where there is the biggest concentration of courses in Turkey. 

The nightlife is lively, with plenty of local bars and night-clubs, ranging from local disco dance clubs to modern night-clubs, from the Tequila Bar to the ever-ubiquitous Irish pub, the James Joyce.

Antalya property offers a great range of villas, apartments and houses for sale close to the beach, in town, or looking down from the hills over its superb marina.

A four bedroom villa in the area might have a market value of around 250-300,000 euro,(£170,000-£205,000) with three bedroom villas with a swimming pool for around 170-180,000 euro. Well-located one-bedroom apartments in Antalya start for around thirty to forty thousand pounds, rising to around a hundred thousand pounds for a simple three-bedroom apartment. However, the city is increasingly popular, has its own airport, and the prices of property in Antalya are set to continue to rise throughout the region.
