Kas Marina

Makyol, one of Turkey's largest construction companies, commenced work on the new Kas Marina in 2009 by building the Kas Bypass that re-routes the Antalya to Fethiye traffic from the existing marina road. The rock and rubble from the new road has been shifted to the harbour side of the new marina to extend its foot print and has formed part of the foundations for the extensive building plan.
The new marina will be the only comprehensive and luxury marina within 250 kilometers stretching from Fethiye to Kemer and is expected to have a capacity of 472 yachts, with suitable docking locations for super and mega yachts and a dry storage capacity for 160 boats.
Kas Marina is set to be the region’s most impressive marina to date and the 3rd largest yachting facility on the Turkish Mediterranean coast with comprehensive facilities including; bars, restaurants, a keep fit and spa centre, boutiques and a helicopter pad.
The project is well underway with an expected completion date of May 2011 and there is a general sense of excitement and anticipation in Kas at the prospect of having the finest yachting facilities in the most beautiful of settings on the Mediterranean.
The areas around the new yacht marina are also being improved with the addition of stone walls and a promenade that links the marina to Gokseki beach. Kas Yacht Marina will offer berths for sale and rent and will also be an overnight stop off point for boats on the Blue Cruise. Having a marina in Kas will effectively extend the opportunity of comfortably sailing the Turqoise Coast. Two miles off shore from Kas is the Greek island of Kastelorizo (or 'Meis' in Turkish); with its picture post card harbour of brightly coloured villas, shops and restaurants.
Kas Property
The completion of a new marina will definitely be good for tourism and attract more buyers looking for holiday homes to Kas, property prices will no doubtedly increase but given that it is one of the most beautiful areas along the Turkish Mediterranean coastline, property here is well worth the investment.
