Hot Property Turkey - Latest News, advice and articles from the Turkish property market

Is the credit crunch affecting the number of buyers?
100's of site visitors reach our site daily using search phases such as 'property in Turkey', or 'property for sale in Turkey' meaning that many of these visitors are interested in buying property. Some may be window shopping, others just wishful thinking, but many are sending enquiries with dates already booked for viewings. A few are investors, but the majority are just ordinary working folk looking for a holiday home. So far this year the number of visitors to Turkey, both prospective buyers and holiday makers, has been very positive.

What this means in terms of property prices
Increases in the number of properties sold will push the market value up which is excellent news for those who have already bought property in Turkey, maybe not so good for those not ready to buy just yet as they may pay slightly higher prices, but in general the overall market remains very good considering the general world economy. Increasing numbers of tourists also means that the rental market is thriving and existing owners should be able to make a good income this year.

Timber frame builds (not to be confused with log cabins), are becoming increasingly popular around the world and these eco friendly low cost villas will give you a top quality permanent or holiday home for a fraction of the cost of a traditional build.

One of the main benefits of timber framed houses is that you can choose an 'off-the-shelf' design, although each house is unique as the customer selects everything from plaster, roof, internal wall colours, sanitary facilities, glaze and tiling.

Excellent news for foreigners as mortgages become more competitive with one French bank offering interest rates of 4.7%, as well as some promotional mortgages from Denizbank with sterling loans available interest-free for two years or 4.8% fixed for 5 years. Hopefully this move will inspire other banks who are still charging up to 12% odd to offer better products soon.
